Ana Ivanovic crashed out of the Wimbledon yesterday, suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Shahar Peer. I am very disappointed with her performance since I was expecting a little more from her. A first round exit is something one does expect from a grand slam winner. One can say that she got a very tough draw, as she had to face the world no. 13 in her very first round. But then she had to win to redeem her lost pride. She lost this game 6-3 6-4. She was not at all that confident on court, one can say nowhere near even half the form she was two years back.

After her second round exit in the French Open earlier this month I was not expecting much from her anyways, and then on top of that she was given a hard draw. So I will not really say that I am heartbroken this time again. But I now feel that I think I was expecting at too much from her this time, she is really not on the top of her game.

Ivanovic has slipped down the rankings to 45th rank in WTA rankings before the start of the tournament. When she won in Paris, two years back she had climbed to the world number one spot. With the first round exit one can expect her to fall down even further in rankings, maybe even out of the top 50.

Well with Wimbledon gone, I can only hope that she comes back very strong later this year on the hard court in US Open. She did reach the finals of the Australian Open (hard court) in 2008, so one can expect some showing from her, something that could redeem her awful show so far this year.

Ana Ivanovic crashed out of the French Open on Thursday, suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Alisa Kleybanova. I am very disappointed woith her performance since she had played her last tournament well, and also in the first match she won comfortably. What is even more disappointing is that the champion of this very grand slam 2008 could not make it to the third round also. She lost this game 6-3 6-0, as the second set was almost one sided. She was at least competitive in the first set and in some points showed flashes of her true ability.

She in fact had a good first game winning convincingly, and I was expecting that she will make it to the fourth round at least as she did last year. But her second round exit has really broken my heart. But I now feel that I thisnk I was expecting at too much from her this time, she is really not on the top of her game.

Ivanovic has slipped down the rankings to 42nd in the world over the past 18 months after an awful run of form. When she won in Paris, two years back she had climbed to the world number one spot. With the second roundd exit one can expect her to fall down even further in rankings.

Well with French Open gone, I can only hope that she comes back very strong later this month on the grass court in Wimbledon. Here I have put in some of her pics from the French Open 2010.

Well I have been a great fan of this Serbian, but her performances in the recent past have left me really dissapointed. I found this update on her official site and it looked quite motivating. I just hope that she comes back with a bang in the French Open, the event which she had won two years back.

“I’m currently training in California with my new coach Heinz Gunthardt. Things are going well: I am learning a lot from him, and I’m feeling more confident about my game.

The timing of the New York exhibition couldn’t be any better, considering that we have just started working together: it gives us the opportunity to try some things out in a serious setting, but one that is not as pressured as a tournament.

After the New York exhibition it’s not too long before the two big tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami begin, and Heinz will be there too. After those events we will evaluate our work together and decide where to go from there. Hopefully it will be long-term.

I’ve been practising hard and haven’t done anything especially interesting in the evenings. I was very eager to get back onto the practice court as soon as my injury cleared up, and we haven’t wasted any time, practising twice a day most days.

We will monitor the health of my shoulder. We have to be careful, and it could influence how many tournaments I can enter in the next few months. I want to play more matches, but I must manage it properly.”
